Surviving in the wilderness

We often hear the news about the death of people in the wilderness; sometimes they are killed by the animals, sometimes by bad weather conditions, and at times by starving. Even though, many people do survive in these trying situations for days or even for weeks. It's not any miracle, but is our proper planning. Yes, proper planning and management leads us to continue to exist in almost all the situations.

Did you ever go for adventure in some unfamiliar regions? Have you ever been trapped in a wilderness? If you are afraid of going for an adventure, then don't be; because by taking safety measures before leaving for an adventure, you will not only survive the uneasy and bad circumstances but will also enjoy your trip.
Sometimes what you expect doesn't happen, and what you don't expect, it happens. So if you are leaving for any voyage this summer, then make sure that you are well equipped with the following essential stuffs so that you can face the unfamiliar circumstances easily, as the case may be.

1 Edibles Without enough food, you may starve and run out of your calories. Keep additional food for your trip; your extra food must not be your favorite because you may be enticed to eat a lot and as a result you may not save some food for the remaining trip. What keeps you away from dehydration is water, so it should be in an excess amount and always refill your cans or bottles at every source of water.

2 First-aid kit Band-aids, scissors, painkillers, antibiotic ointments, aspirin, etc, must be included in your first-aid kit. Also carry with you the prescribed drugs that you take regularly.

3 Clothing You must be outfitted with your extra clothes. Keep with you the rough cloths that will help you to stay away from rain or mud. In wilderness, your cloths will facilitate you a lot for several purposes.

4 Map In a wilderness trap, get the help from the topographic map. You can place it inside your clothes for insulation and can also manifest the rescuers by addressing notes or directions. For wilderness navigation, a topographic map is very crucial.

5 Compass Be familiar with the use of map and compass, you must know how to navigate them. They can be a good source of help if you know all that.

6 Cell phone or Walky-talky Carry a cell phone or a walky-talky with you. Although you may not find a sound network in wilderness, but you can turn on your walky-talky and send signals. If the rescuers are within the range, they will definitely find you out and let you out of that uncultivated region.

7- Utility tools For preparing food, kindling, first-aid, and performing other various tasks, you need to carry some tools like, blades, scissors, saws, screw drivers, tweezers and a lighter.

8 Bulbs and Batteries In the dark, you can be vulnerable to the animals or insects if you don't have enough light for vision. To travel even a small distance will be difficult for you. Carry with you in excess small batteries and flashlights. These bulbs and lights can help you find your way in dark, reading map and for signaling.

Surviving in the wilderness is not as intricate as we think. If you plan and manage your stuff, time and tasks properly, then there is no stopping coming your way.
