Betrayal
A judge and a jury, much shame and disgrace
A tale of deceit, and lies in this place
What brought him here,a man of his word?
Has often been told, and so often heard
A web of diversions, secrets and such
Promises and pledges, that meant near as much
Money and power, famous friends and indeed
Integrity sacrificed ,to satisfy greed
I guess I would know,for I was but one
Of those on the inside, and as dear as a son
Great trust and respect, and honor had he
Such good friends we were, until he tried to kill me
