Ski resort reviews: Mt Sunapee, NH

I have visited Mount Sunapee three times now and each time gets better and better. I have gone twice in the winter and once in the summer. There's always something to do there year round. In the winter the ski hills have been quite enjoyable. My first visit the wife and I decided to try out the ski school and I must say I'm glad I did! The instructors were very helpful and patient with us at times when I would have given up had it been me in their position. We went for a five lesson package that was $100 for each of us, Kind of pricey but we learned so much it was worth every penny. The views are spectacular and are also what led us to return in the summer. Hiking there was so much fun we brought the kids the second time and they had a ball. We had a nice picnic lunch atop the summit. I highly recommend going on the sky ride it is very relaxing and there is so much to take in once on the top. Prices for a round trip on the sky lift are: adults $6 and the kids cost $5 well worth the money for the experience. We stayed at an Inn I won't go into much detail about it only to say that it was a BAD experience and to avoid the Back Side Inn at all costs! But enough of that back to Mount Sunapee. The third time we visited was last winter and we brought the whole family, the weather was atrocious and even still the hills looked immaculate The groomers did an awesome job everything was top notch although we stayed inside and drank a lot of hot chocolate for the first day. The hills felt excellent despite the bad weather. We opted for lessons for the kids pretty pricey at $490 for each of them but it was worth it since after the 8 lessons they can now ski better than I can. I love how every time I go the staff seem so appreciative for my business and seem as if they genuinely care about us it feels very warm. I will be returning again this winter and try and show off my moves, maybe try and upstage the kids. All in all its a great experience for your money the great scenery makes for great picture opportunities I have recommended Mount Sunapee to many friends and they all had only positive things to say about it. So if you love to ski and relax in an a warm inviting atmosphere Then check out Mount Sunapee you won't regret it! Just beware of the Back Side Inn I would recommend the Burkehaven at Sunapee. It's located about 4 miles I know a little far compared to the inns around the mountain but they have the best rates that I have come across remember to call ahead they book up in advance probably because of their great rates and good food.
