If you intend to vacation on the island of La Ramana then I'll be your mini-guide!
listed below are some of the must- see destinations of the island, like the open-air amphitheater and the National Park, or even the places where movies like Apocalypse Now and Rambo were
filmed.
While in Altos de Chavon, a fun thing to do would to experience the artistic side
of La Ramana. The community, dedicated to cultural exchange, creates an
impressive architectural monument to creative spirits. While there you
should check out the edge of La Ramana as long as you don't fall over the
edge, being that La Ramana is located on the edge of a canyon that gorgeously
opens out onto the Chavon River. But if heights isn't your thing, then you can
sit down and relax, sit back, and enjoy a show at one of the world's most
majestic open-air theatre, where on the first opening night in 1982, Frank and
Carlos Sinatra played. Also the movies Apocalypse Now and Rambo were filmed
here, so be sure to take a boat ride to visit these movie sites.
Located in the southeast part of the Dominican Republic, the National Park
of the East contains archaeological importance as well to La Ramana. The
area is mostly comprised of tropical and subtropical rainforest's, it includes the
Saona Island and contains a large range of plants, not to mention endangered
fauna like manatees and bottle nose dolphins. Also, this park contains
significant archaeological sites including Taino, the people Columbus came
upon in 1492, artifacts and ancient drawings.
Rated as the number one restaurant in La Ramana, La casita restaurant is
consider the best place to sit down and relax while enjoying a well- prepared
meal. With a price range of 10 to 20 dollars, this is quite the deal for anyone
looking to enjoy the culinary side of La Ramana. But if this isn't for you then
there's alway the option of buying Mcdonalds and having it shipped to you, just
kidding.
If you intend to stay the night or week at La Ramana, you'll want to check out
their hotels or resorts. Given the title of number one place to stay by public
vote, the Sunscape Casa de Mar is a must see! With honeymoon suites, and
a ocean side view for those of you who just tied the knot, this is definitely the
icing on the cake for wanting to visit La Ramana. The average price for this hotel
is $265 year-round. But if this luxurious resort isn't for you, then you're either out
of your mind or just looking for something a little less fancy. Just look for hotels
like the Gran Bhia Principe La Ramana with quieter settings and friendly people
this hotel is the type a more secluded vacationer would want, you know, to get
away from the in laws.
Well, that's just a little taste of the lovely culture and people of La Ramana
are like. Hope to see you over there. Happy and safe traveling.
