Project managers have a big responsibility because they are assigned to deal with the planning, execution and closing of any given project. The success of a project will depend on how a project manager can effectively communicate with employees and clients. Communication can become effective if there is a successful delivery and sharing of information without having to alter any facts or data in the process of transfer. Both the sender and receiver of the information should have a shared understanding of the message that is being conveyed.
A project can become successful if the team involved with it comprehend each other by way of good communication, otherwise the project is doomed to fail. A project manager should have the capability to communicate confidently and credibly to the team members to earn a good respect, thus making it easy for them to interact with each other. Being able to communicate effectively is one of the most crucial elements of success in a project. The Project manager and the team should develop a good foundation in their communication process so that they will feel comfortable working with each other to further the goals of every project.
If the project manager can convey to the team members in an effective way, there is a good flow of their working relationship. Conflicts may arise while the project is being worked out. Managers should deal with the situation by mediating to certain misunderstandings emphasizing the value of a healthy relationship. It is essential how a manager can resolve differences between two or more conflicting parties in order to bring about an amicable settlement. This is when the importance of being able to effectively communicate comes in. Project managers should be credible enough for the team members to believe what he's trying to convey.
In dealing with clients, it is vital that project managers possess the quality to communicate clearly and confidently so as to close a project at the soonest possible time. The manner by which a manager delivers to clients the benefits of the project will become a basis of the project's success. The communication lines of both the project manager and the clients should be open so that the needs of both parties will be fairly discussed. If there is a good flow of communication, important concerns like expectations and dislikes will be delivered.
