"The Dreamer's Blessing: The Dreamer's Curse"
Tis not bold to dare to dream,
Nor too risky to defy what seems.
Tis commonplace to reach for stars,
To set lofty goals, and to travel afar.
Every man's heart doeth often wander;
Even so each doeth every mind ponder.
To dream is not truly so very unique:
Tis but effort to find what every soul seeks.
A dreamer in fact is that someone more:
Believing in more than what is in store.
A dreamer has that something else:
Knowing feelings he has not yet felt.
A dreamer is more than merely he who dreams:
In what can't be seen a dreamer fondly believes.
When all hope is lost and most others concede;
When all blood is lost a dreamer still bleeds.
On the darkest nights dreamers see light.
When all goes wrong dreamers see right.
When others lose hope and can not see,
A dreamer's hope sees all he believes.
Tis a lonely world where a dreamer lives;
For all he imagines a dreamer might give.
Tis a daunting task to carry on hoping,
In a world of skeptics barely coping.
The world has not enough to give in return,
For a dreamer's light the world hath not learned.
When conventional wisdom and all else fails,
Tis a dreamer's calling to balance the scales,
With a hope and a cause never quite jaded;
Dreamers carry on where light has faded.
In all of the things that drain most souls,
A dreamer finds fuel to keep his soul full.
Often weary a dreamer takes to his saddle,
Smiling inwardly onward to his next battle.
The world knows not of his chore or unrest:
It matters not for he's compelled to his test.
The world is full of doubts, fears, and sorrows,
But there will always be dreamers' tomorrows.
All are welcome to follow the dreamer's quest,
But there is no room for just doing one's best.
When not good enough is the order of the day,
One will always find a dreamer trying anyway.
When all is lost and there seems no more hope,
When all has failed seeming no one could cope,
There stands alone the dreamer,
Those who "just dream" come along for the ride,
So they will not be alone nor have to hide.
Such is his curse, but also his blessing and grace:
Those inspired by the dreamer cannot run his race.
There stands the dreamer alone.
