A Rose Without A Thorn

Forsaken roads, mangled death
In twisted metal a rose lying still
A curious world comes cruising by
And tosses a hopeless pill

A weathered form bruised by the storm
Finds refuge in a cardboard boat
An icy wind and cotton shirt
Are all that keep a-float

Thundered storm, within his mind
The light he cannot see
A senseless peace, bitter calm
He's now highway debris
