Horses are beautiful animals and they have been used for numerous purposes. They, like us, grew and evolved over time, becoming complex and mind grabbing species. There are various horse breeds, and with the different horse breeds, come different qualities and traits. Those traits allow them to do a variety of things, and at the same time, allows them to be different from each other. We have grown to love and respect these majestic creatures for their personality, each compatible for a different owner. Without horses, life would literally be something different.

Trail horses are common, but are sometimes hard to come across. When looking for a trail horse, you expect a calm horse with a peaceful and friendly nature. You also want an alert horse that knows how to handle problems when he/she comes across one. The Azteca horse breed is an idyllic choice for a trail horse. This horse was developed a little over 30 years ago, so if you are unfamiliar with them, you will know why. This horse is smart, and has many various features that makes it a horse of its own. Azteca breeds come in white, black, brown and gray colors. Measuring in at 15 hands (5 feet), this horse has the potential to do typical farm work, so, basically, this breed is strong! Good natured and willing to cooperate, this breed is easily ridden. This breed has excellent joints, and very dense bone. They are very spirited and proud. You may also note that this breed takes part in competitions.

Measuring in at 14 hands (4.5 feet), the Australian Pony is a typical trail horse. Although not a horse, this breed has short legs, but shouldnt be underestimated. They are very strong. With its captivating beauty, this breed builds up quite a reputation. This pony, while riding, will be fully alert, and precarious. This beauty has a very friendly nature, and is popular among a child's riding pony. You can also see the breed in many dressage competitions. This pony is mostly gray in color, but like all horses and ponies, this varies. These ponies are very versatile, which makes them a great trail pony.
