Paparazzi lurking in the bushes, cameras flashing in the distance, and someone always willing to give an exclusive on your actions and life just to get their own five minutes of fame. This is the lifestyle for many of our famous celebrities. Some celebrities can be somewhat successful in keeping their personal life personal, but in many cases if you are a celebrity you will be the center of some sort of news story, your photograph will be splashed somewhere, and someone will be willing to spill your secrets or at least make up stories if they don't know your secrets. So why would anyone sign up for this?

Well that is simple, as people we are selfish beings, we want to be recognized for our talents and some of us do have extremely great talents and what grander stage to be recognized on that being a member of the Hollywood elite? Getting coverage and being in the spotlight can propel your career, especially if you are promoting a new movie, a new show, a new product, or a new album. More is better in the world of Hollywood. In order to sell what you are doing, you have to be out and about selling yourself.

There are some celebrities that feed into the paparazzi and feed into the attention they get from the media, whether it be negative or positive attention. My case and point, Britney Spears certainly has to be a front runner in all of this. When she was going through a custody battle and having a breakdown, she basically did it in front of the whole world. She made it a point to be in places where she would be photographed and chased and where she would be the center of attention. It spiraled and we all watched her downfall to the point that we all got sick of even the mere mention of her name. Why would you want to put something so personal and so devastating, like the possibility of losing your children out there for the whole world to see? I am not sure we will ever really know, but there tons of people out there that thought they had the inside scoop and were ready to tell all when the opportunity arrived. Life under a microscope, isn't it grand?

Then of course we have talentless wonders that ride on the coat tails of others and that just happen to have notarity for doing things that many of us would not want publicly aired. Take Paris Hilton, I am still trying to figure out what talent she really has? But she is photogenic and she keeps people guessing. She has been able to capitalize on being from a rich family, from a sex-tape scandal, from going to jail
