Map Quest is an easy to use mapping and driving directions website that provides you, the traveller, with a wealth of information on each destination, including any routes that you may wish to take, or any journey that you are undertaking. Using Map Quest, trips can be planned out so that any places that are of interest to each or any f the travellers will be included in your map and driving directions.

The Map Quest mapping and driving directions system will devise a travel itinerary for you from your inputted information, giving driving instructions, exact distances between places that you entered as places of interest. The distances between any turns, as well as the estimated driving time between all of your selected destinations and turns, will be printed either beside the map, or on a separate piece of paper.

All that you really need to know to use Map Quest is the address or major intersection from where your journey will begin, the addresses or major intersections of any stops along the way, and your final destination. The rest is easily calculated by Map Quest, and if you want, printed on paper and/or transferred to your third generation cell phone or PDA for easy access.

If you are interested in visiting National Monuments, or any other place or thing that interests you along your travels, you can input that information into the Map Quest mapping system. You will be given a list of all places that meet your criteria, how to get from one to the next in the fastest time or the most direct route, and any amenities along the way that you want to have access to like rest stops, campgrounds, motels, Tourism Boutiques and restaurants, etc. can be included on your map and driving directions as well.

Using the Map Quest mapping and driving directions website is one of the easiest ways to get driving directions from one point to another. You can include as many stop-over places that you wish, and Map Quest will give you the driving directions, in either the shortest route or the shortest driving time with all requested places of interest included. Each stop-over can be included in the mapping itinerary, with one or even two different approaches from your route given with exacting turns and distances.

With the high costs of gasoline and maintenance due to wear and tear on vehicles, getting to your destination in the shortest route possible is a very prudent and ecologically sound decision. Using Map Quest, there is no need for an expensive GPS driving directions unit
