I have been very stressed, and it keeps piling up. I decided to take yoga again after five years of not utilizing this exercise tool. Yoga is a terrific exercise for stress. Starting off with meditation, while sitting in a cross legged position, letting thoughts move in and out of consciousness is a wonderful feeling. Not thinking of the thought.
Warming up for yoga is great because you can use different poses and flows. They take concentration, which inturn takes your attention to your exercise. You can do simple poses such has dog to cat stretch, or Classic Sun Salutaion. Matching your breath with your movements during yoga helps to slow down your breathing, regulate it and assists in regulating your blood flow. Working with my body by using the different poses provided me with a healthy outlet to focus on. It is like a dance. Lying in childs pose opens up each vertabrae in my back and in my neck, releasing unwanted tension. All of the warrior poses possess a feeling of empowerment. Yoga has a high quality to reliefing stress. There are many types of yoga. Some are fast paced, and others are more layed back. They all provide the body/mind relief from stress by facing your attention on something other than the stressor, and releasing the physical stress through the physical movements.
Many different exercises releases tension in the muscles if done properly. They also release endorphines into the brain to give you a boost of that feel good that every person needs. It may have the ability to realign the neurons firing in a healthier sequence. Exercising reliefs stress by using negative energy, splurging it out, but in a positive manner.
Walking is a wonderful exercise has well. It provides the release of physical tension. It can provide beautiful scenery depending on where you walk, which can release stress by itself. It does not require a lot of concentration, so you can let your mind wander to pleasant thoughts.
Swimming is like entering a different world. You are in a different atmosphere. Your body is able to float in a liquid that can feel quite healing. Swimming laps while reaching out has far has your body will allow brings on a good stretch through your arms and shoulders. Shaking your exercise routine is good to provide your body/mind with different arenas to relieve the stress in. Each exercise has positives.
