The Gasoline Problem-An Economic Disaster
A Look At The Price Of Gas
Now we all have the same problem-a gasoline problem.A problem we can all share in and decide what to do. This is not just a problem of the rich or the poor, the black or the white, the young or old, the sick or well-it is a problem for all of us.
If we don't solve this gasoline problem we are doomed as our whole economy depends on it.
Our standard of living will fall if we don't solve this shortage of gasoline.
Our whole way of life depends on gasoline. The truckers carrying all our goods will have to transfer the extra expense of the gas to all the products we use. Think of how much of our goods is trucked and you will see what an enormous problem this is to the consumer.
This is why you see everything going up in price in the stores. At the supermarket, it seems as if every week the prices are higher than the week before, on all the groceries.
At the department stores the clothes are pricier. All the fault of the gasoline problem.
The airlines are suffering, I even heard the other day that one of the airlines is advertising using less fuel. And think of all the taxis and cars on the road-think of all the gasoline they use.
As to motor homes they will become a thing of the past of this gasoline problem isn't solved. And bus fares will surely surge in price.
We're all in this together, so let's do something about it. Let's just not complain, but really do something that will help to solve this gasoline problem that is destroying our economy.
Everyone is considering an alternate kind of energy to replace our present fuel, but everything seems years off and we need some immediate help, right now.
Here in America, we have had shortages before. During World War II, toward the end of the war we had gas rationing. Of course everyone was upset at first but then everyone realized we had to sacrifice if we wanted to resolve the problem so everyone learned to adjust to the situation. Somehow everyone managed to carry on their life and just made fewer trips with their cars. This helped the Nation in a time of need. People will do anything for the right cause.
I also remember some time ago we had a 55 mile an hour law in many places. At first people thought this was a terrible idea but as time went on everyone learned it was a great idea.
When 55 miles an hour was the law, there were less accidents. When 55 miles an hour was the law, there were fewer deaths on the highways. When 55 miles an hour was the law, it was actually fun to drive in a car. It was so relaxing to just drive along comfortably without trying to avert a disaster just awaiting us by a speeding car. And it didn't cost us too much in time difference getting from one place to another.
Sometimes, little sacrifice can make a big difference.
People have made great sacrifices in the past to pass onto us the world of today.
I know the people of today are willing to make some sacrifices so the children of today can enjoy their tomorrow.
Anyway, with a little thinking I know we can come up with some type of short term solution if we just put our minds to it.
