The air is usually dryer (less thunder storms, also) and flights tend to be on time more often than afternoon schedules.
2. Wear closed toe shoes when your fly - it is safer and who wants to smell stinky feet for hours!
3. Get someone to take you to the airport and avoid high car parking costs, plus your car will be safer at home in the garage.
4. Become informed about Hepatitis risks if you are going to foreign countries and practice the safety proceedures CDC reccommends.
5. Lock your valuables (better yet limit jewelry you take when on vacation) in your hotel room safe or the hotel safe when you leave your room. This is a must when you travel to foreign countries.
6. Drink only bottled water and avoid ice cubes, water fountains and ice tea.
7. Eat only fully cooked foods, alien parasites can spoil a vacation quickly.
8. Buy a discount Book for the city or area you are traveling to and use it to save on food and entertainment activities.
9. If you rent a car or drive to your destination,shop for cheap gas in the area you travel to through Gasbuddy.com and other websites.
10. Do to increased crime globally, always go out at night in groups and only ride in marked cabs.
11. Carry only small amounts of cash and 1 credit card when you are shopping - pick pockets are shrewd and of all ages these days. Have the cash handy, in the event you are robbed and you can hand it over easily. I keep a credit card in my bra (secret compartment) when out shopping on vacation. It may sound funny but it works for me. It's easy to make it look like you are adjusting a bra strap as you retrieve your credit card. Ha Ha.
Learn to be friendly and polite to the people you meet, it will help you relax and enjoy your vacation more. Remember you are on vacation, not a work schedule, so enjoy the journey and the people who help facilitate your trip.
