Everyone wants to be a millionaire in Runescape. The fact of the matter is that becoming a millionaire is hard work, but this guide will show you the most profitable ways to make money in the mining world, so you can be a millionaire. Mining is a skill that requires a lot of determination and patience. Without those two things you will never become a top tier miner. Well, enough of this lecturing let's get on with the rest of the guide.

In order to test which ores were the most profitable, I did three 1-hour trials, with level 79 mining. I of course banked my ores. The numbers will vary from person to person because of different mining levels. The second test was made to test how to gain the most amount of mining experience in the game per hour. Again I did three 1-hour trials, with select ores. Lastly, I put together a guide to leveling mining from all the knowledge I gained from these tests. Then I actually made a new character and tried out my guide and found it worked insanely well.

The Best Money Making Ores in Free to Play (lowest to highest):

Tin Ore: Tin Ore is a pretty useless ore. Yes, it can be smelted with copper to make bronze, but the fact of the matter is that Copper Ore is 2.5 times the value of Tin Ore. So you may as well mine Copper Ore then sell some and buy the Tin Ore. Tin Ore respawns almost instantly so you don't have to wait long before you can mine again. I averaged mining 627 ores per hour, gaining 10,927.5 experience per hour, and selling the ore at 30 gp, I made 18,800 gp per hour. I mined at the Varrock West mine.

Mithril Ore: Mithril requires 55 mining in order to mine the ore. Although it takes a pretty high level to mine this ore it is relatively cheap compared to other ores (It's about the same price as Silver which only requires level 20 mining). You should not bank Mithril Ore! If you are going to mine Mithril ore, you should superheat it along with four coal into a Mithril bar, and then bank. Mithril takes about 2 minutes to respawn on a full server which makes it harder to mine. I averaged mining 117 ores per hour, gaining 9,360 experience per hour, and selling the ore at 176 gp, I made 20,592 gp per hour. I mined at the Lumbridge West mine.

Rune Essence: In order to mine Rune Essence you must have complete the Rune Mysteries Quest. Rune Essence is the easiest ore to mine in the game, you simply click on the rock and your character mines it until your inventory is full. It is a very profitable ore for low level miners and I
