The believe that only the rich can travel, is a myth. There are so many ways to travel easily and save money at the same time that almost anyone in the world with the desire to see other places and cultures, can travel.

Even before you plan your next holiday, you can start looking at saving money for your travels. The best way to do this is to sign up to many of the eNewsletters each of the online travel websites send. These newsletters are a handy tool to find out the best prices and the more accurate information on when and how to book your trip, and because the internet doesn't have to pay a travel agent to sit there and book your trip, they usually offer better discount rates as well.

Once you have access to these up to date travel pricing information, then it's time to do some planning, and a few areas of savings below will give you a guideline on how to save money when traveling:

1. Save money on transport
One of the biggest amounts you'll have to pay to travel is your transport to get there. Whether it be a flight, or a cruise or a bus or a train, you are likely to be spending more on this category than any other parts of your traveling period. One important thing to remember is that the prices change everyday, and it is always cheaper to travel off peak season. So find out when the main tourist seasons are for the destination you are going to, and go just before or after that season. This is especially true for flight tickets where a different season can mean $400 different in the ticket price. Your travel agent should be able to tell you when these season are and to help you make a decision on the dates you travel.

2. Save money on accommodation
Besides the transport cost, this is probably going to be the major blow out of your budget. Accommodation does not come cheap anywhere in the world, and you have to pay it because you will always need somewhere to stay. However there are many ways to save on accommodation costs, such as choosing to stay in a hostel rather than hotels can save you half of the cost that you would otherwise have to pay. Don't worry, staying in a hostel doesn't mean you have to share! By paying just a little bit more you can still have your own room. If you are an experienced traveler and don't mind a little bit of adventure, you can even try communities such as www.hospitalityclub.org or www.couchsurfing.com, where you can try to find yourself a friend locally and stay with them for free. Just make sure you return the favour and
