It is a saddening example of the perfect storm of ideology, media manipulation, and superstition that permeates he debate over alleged global warming that the notion that it exists is so readily accepted and promoted while facts contrary to the popular view are stifled. An example of the stifling of facts disproving global warming as promoted by the Mainstream Media and the world's intellectual classes is the recent controversy over Christopher Monckton of Brenchley, who submitted a detailed refutation of the global warming scare as pushed by the International Panel on Climate Change to the American Physical Society. His letter included a bogus "disclaimer" tacked on by APS claiming the correspondance was not peer-reviewed, when in fact it includes voluminous documentation indicative of a properly-researched piece and had been reviewed by the APS with recommended clarifications included by Lord Monckton - in short, Monckton's was an objectively peer-reviewed piece.

The idea of global warming dovetails with two themes popular with the intellecual class in the Western world and the Mainstream Medias who so overwhelmingly side with them. First the idea dovetails ith the intellectual class' desire to seize an issue and use it as justification for widespread passage of laws and regulations that invariably attack the economic foundation of the West. The second theme is what Thomas Sowell so brilliantly summarized - The vision of the anointed. Global warming is a "crisis" that allows the intellectual class to congradulate itself on its nobility and the moral superiority it carries over the uninformed masses.

It is this ideological drive to regulate and dictate to others that drives the global warming scare, because the objective science by no means proves that it even exists and hus does not justify ANY action to be taken beyond the common-sense action of leaving things alone. The globl warming scare goes on the presumption that mankind's machinery generates so much carbon dioxide as to trap heat within the atmosphere and ths increase heat to levels that inflict severe damage to the earth, to where polar ice caps begin to melt, oceans begin to rise, and weather patterns are grievously altered for the worse.

But the premise behind the global warming scare assumes that mankind can generate so much pollutant to in effect cripple the earth's ability to cool, and this premise is simply absurd on its face. The idea that mankind can outdo the sun in affecting earth's climate
