When cooking with meat, you have to find the best cut and thickness with just the right amount of marbling. London Broils are good meats that do well over an open flame. One of the ways I like to cook a London Broil is with a Teriyaki style seasoning.
First you take the London Broil and place it in a cooking dish that is big enough to accomadate the piece of meat you have purchased. Then take a fork and start stabbing the London Broil all over. When your done with the first side, turn it over and do the same thing to the other side.
Once your done, take your favorite Teriyaki sauce and pour some of the sauce under the meat, and then pour the rest of the sauce over the top of the London Broil. After pouring all the sauce over the London Broil, cover the dish with aluminum foil and place in the refridgerator for about an hour; turning the London Broil every 15 minutes to soak up that sauce.
With only 15 minutes left to go, get your grill ready. You may use whatever method you like, charcoal or gas. I prefer gas; but either method will get the job done.
Once your grill is ready, get the London Broil out of the fridge and get your tongs and head out to the grill; Never Use a FORK to flip your meat! This will let all those seared in juices to flow right out and dry up your meat. Place the London Broil on the grill and wait for about 2 minutes and then flip the meat over to a different part of the grill. This will sear the meat and keep all those precious juices within the meat for a better tasting and mouth watering experience.
I like my London Broil cooked Medium Rare, but your tastes may differ a bit; so keep it on the grill as long as you want to get the meat to your likeing, flipping it over every 5 minutes or so. When the London Broil is perfect for you, take it off the grill and bring it to the cutting board. Take a nice carving knife and slice the London Broil at a 45 degree angle, slicing the meat every 1/4 inches. After cutting it all up, serve with your favorite vegetables and other foods you deem necessary to compliment the meat and enjoy. I like to slice some yellow squash and some zucchini and put those on the grill as well to go as a side dish.
Another way I like this is on a salad, served hot with tomatoes and blue cheese dressing and whatever else you may like on your salad. If you cook the London Broil this way, I guarantee you will not be dissapointed. Bon Appetit!
