My brother & I are buddies
And the jerk is so cute
He eats,sleeps & lives cars
And insists his Corvette is a beaut!
We care to share most things
And some we'd rather not
The temperature rises easily
We quarrel about a lot!
So when he got me late for work
And made me look like a flake
I left his Corvette in the yard
Obviously...by mistake!
The neighbours' kids 'admired' his car
Touching & probing it all day
The spotless love of my brother
Looked...i'd rather not say!
He charged upto me
Holding a little mirror
I ran to the window to see
In the yard, a big red terror!
His car was all but gone
Its pieces fell apart
My brother was baffled
But didn't know where to start!
Hey, it was an 'accident'
I just left it in the yard...
I was just joking man
But, his eyes turned hard!
After he had cried all night
I gave him a letter...
He was going to shred it
But, opened it...only to feel better!
In the picture stood two red cars
One tattered & one fine...
He ran to the garage & saw
His Corvette shining & divine...
He's never late again
You see we made a deal
I lay off his Corvette
& he doesn't spoil Ally McBeal!
We know where to stop
Even though we still fight
We don't take each other for granted
After that dreadful night!

I’ll tell you if you swear

That’s not too much to bear

And you're not always here
To guide me through this life
Your words of wisdom
