If eating alone can cure/sustain the life, then what is the purpose so many types and forms of exercising the body? Let us be realistic. If eating alone can keep yourself fit and healthy then almost all of the affordable people need to be fit and healthy. For that matter, the health of a person depends only 60% of what he eats, and the remaining on his exerising routine.
We think normally that whatever we eat would do us good. Do you know the truth? It doesnot always. Because much of the minerals, vitamins and other essential ingredients of the food are not assimilated properly without a healthy exercise pattern. If you are eating well, then you only have done half of the work to produce a good result. The remaining half does involve exercising, mental make up and other stuff.
Episodes of Bipolar disorder illness are associated with distress and disruption, and a high risk of suicide, especially during depressive episodes. Bipolar disorder is not a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders defined by the presence of one or more episodes of abnormally elevated mood, clinically referred to as mania.
Exercising of our mind can be achieved by yoga and meditation. Because yoga exercises like Padmasana, Pranayama etc., improves not only our nervous system but also circulatory system thereby easing out nervous tension. Sarvangasana, Sirasasana and Dhanurasana to name a few are creating a "wellness" mood and keep both our body and mind intact. These yogasanas coupled with meditation brings solace to your system. Apart from curative factors they also have very good maintenance attributes for our body.
Meditation involves calming up the mind and improve concentration of the mind. When one could continue doing meditation for atleast 30 minutes a day I would say he cannot have depression and other mental discomforts or mood swings. At the initial level it may not be that easy to concentrate our mind in any single object for that long a period. But I swear, with some initial training in yoga, meditation should not be that difficult to pursue. But it may not be that difficult if one starts this exercising habit in his early ages, as the concentration is better achieved during that periods. However, it is better late than never for older and adults too.
So, my conclusion is that proper eating alone will not help bipolar defects. Some exercises that we discussed above could erase the mental discomforts mood swings.
