The Death That Lives
Falling apart is nothing new
Seems to be the only thing that I can do
Pieces of me crash into you
No alibi to recount
No one to plea my case
My judgment handed out to me
No longer am I free.
Friends reappear with concerned eyes
Telling me that they love the one I am
And then disappear the same
No door to make a run for
I seemed trapped by my fears
Salvation feels too far away
I can't see through my tears.
Dying inside, I make amends
Hoping to justify the death that lives in me
Only gaining the empty sense of need
No wake for this notion
The procession's stopped their haste
Like trash I'm thrown onto the ground
Quickly cover up this waste

I have been on life's roller coaster, as far back as I
