Why is nutrition important?

Nutrition is the most important aspect of our lives. Properly supplying our bodies with needed nutrients enables us to thrive, grow and reach our daily and life goals. Without great nutrition we are literally robbing our bodies of the very nature and nuturing status they so depend on.

When a person literally robs his body of the necessary nutrients it needs to run like a well oiled machine, then he is doing himself an injustice. We all do the morning rush occassionally, where we throw back a cup or two of coffee and a morning danish. That morning cup of java will fuel our bodies until we need another cup of caffeine. Maybe we are still in a rush during the enire day and we don't have time to eat the right foods. So, we run to a fast food restaurant and throw back still more foods that have nothing in them that will help maintain our health.

This can be a vicious cycle that we carry on everyday, possibly throwing in a good meal or two to maintain some feeling that we are eating correctly. But, when this becomes a daily venture into not eating wisely, then we are only harming ourselves.

The human body needs healthy food choices to function, to grow, and to repair itself. Eating from the five food groups everyday, such as eating vegetables, fruits, grains and meats in moderation will do a body wonders. Well planned meals with all the basic food groups gives a person basic health benefits that go way beyond the everyday norm.

Every part of the body needs to have certain nutients, minerals and vitamins to aid it in it's daily survival. When a person eats the right foods, he is actually enabling his body to work at its peak performance. The heart can pump blood to every part of the body in an efficient manner. The skin will grow, and repair itself and feel smooth and silky to the touch. The hair will grow, and not be dry and brittle and break off, that can cause major and permanant damage to the hair follicles.

Without proper nutrition the human body doesn't look good. Depending on how much a person is eating or what he is eating will regulate his body form. A person that eats a poor diet may be underweight. Someone that also has a poor diet of eating all the wrong foods can be overweight. By not making the correct food choices a person can literally be harming the machine that keeps them alive. Eating too much junk food, overprocessed foods, and drinking too much soda and not drinking enough water will have a person feeling sort of like he is going through a trainwreck.
