It's amazing how a heart can make a promise
Even one it cannot keep
And so many times that promise
Seems to just creep and creep
The way it can break someone elses's heart
And keep you up at night
Pulling on the strings of your life
And making you fight
It's hard to believe it's just a promise
And that promises are so strong
That when you make each promise
You try even harder to promise yourself
That your promise isn't wrong
