Have you ever seen a Persian cat? Persians are lovely cats. They have a very sweet demeanor about them. They are very loving cats. I have owned many Persians in my life time, and can honestly say that they are an utter joy to have around. They are very well behaved cats, which is always a plus when owning a pet. Persians have been in numerous paintings by great artists.

When caravans wound their way westward from Persian and Iran, it is said they also carried a very precious cargo, an occasional long haired cat. These beautiful cats were called Persians for their country of origin. But, it is unknown where their exact beginnings came from.

Persians are known for their long flowing coats and pansy-like faces. These lovely cats are the number one breed in popularity. They have very sweet and gentle personalities that fit well in most households, once they start to feel safe in their new environment. Persians are creatures of habit, they feel most at home in an atmosphere of security and tranquility. However, with the right amount of love and tenderness they can adapt to almost any household. Persians communicate beautifully with their large, expressive eyes and make charming pets for all ages.

Persians have short legs to support their broad short bodies. They are not prone to high jumping and climbing. Persians are playful, but never demanding. These cats are extremely responsive and become a constant joy for their owners. Their companionship is close and everlasting.

Their long flowing coat requires and indoor environment. By keeping a Persian inside it also keeps them safe from disease and parasites. Keeping them indoors also helps protect them from the harsh elements of the weather. Owning a Persian requires a great deal of grooming, because of their long coats.

In closing, Persians are a magnificent breed. They are adored by millions of people. Persians are good pets for all ages. They require a lot of grooming, but they are worth the effort. They will love you unconditionally. Persians are most recognized by their long, flowing coats, expressive eyes, and open faces. Persians are the number one breed of cats in popularity. This says a lot for these creatures. If you ever have the opportunity to own a Persian, you should take it. Owning a pet can change your life, but more than that they bring joy to it.
