Seth Carlo Chandler, an American astronomer, discovered the Chandler Wobble first in1891. The effects of the wobble cause the earth's poles to move in an irregular circle of three to fifteen meters in diameter in an oscillation. The track of the spin axis began to slow down and by about January 8, 2006. Here is what Edgar Cayce; the famed sleeping prophet predicted during the mid 1930's that a new cycle of the shifting of the poles would begin in 2000/2001 and thereafter an increase in the "upheavals" in the Earth. Since this anomaly has appeared in a "cycle" of Chandler's Wobble which began in 2000, just after the completion of the MIN PHASE in 1999, we are now seeing Cayce's prediction fulfilled with remarkable fidelity. Cayce believed that these horrible future events could be averted if humanity changed its behavior. And this is the purpose for giving prophecies - to warn people to change so that the prophecies won't happen. Cayce was the first to describe the concept of the shifting of the pole as a result of the crust of the Earth moving independently from the core of the Earth to bring different a surface area over the spin axis. Probably our interest has been stirred due to the increase attention to global warming and the increase in frequency of violent weather here in the United States and globally.
An Explanation for Pole Shifts Pole shift is generally believed to be due to the gradual redistribution of mass in outer Earth's mantle and the crust. Our planet is most stable when its most massive parts are farthest from its spin axis; that is, on the equator. If mass redistribution were to occur somewhere on an otherwise uniform Earth, the planet would reorient itself so that the mass concentration would move to the equator. Over the past century, the North Pole moved about 33 feet toward eastern Canada. Most geophysicists believe the movement is due to true polar wander (TPW), or a shift of the Earth's entire mantle and crust relative to Earth's core. Scientists have known for some time that the magnetic poles move. James Ross located the pole for the first time in 1831 in an exhausting journey in which his ship got stuck in the ice for four years. In 1904 a man named Ronald Amundsen found the pole again and discovered it had moved at least 50 km since the days of James Ross.
The Effect of Earthquakes Earth's magnetic field is changing in other ways as well: Compass needles in Africa are drifting about 1 degree per decade. And globally the magnetic field has weakened 10% since the 19th century. Researchers at a recent meeting of the American Geophysical Union, many newspapers carried the story. A typical headline: "Is Earth's magnetic field collapsing?"
The massive earthquake off the coast of Indonesia on December 26, 2004 registered a magnitude of nine on the modified Richter scale; it was the fourth largest earthquake in one hundred years and the largest since the 1964 Prince William Sound, Alaska earthquake.
Scientist have been checking the changes in direction of the earth's magnetic field from the distant past to the present. The sun reverses its magnetic field like clockwork every eleven years at the peak of the sunspot cycle. The next solar flip is due in the year 2012. The Bible says this in Isaiah 24: 1. "Behold, The Lord makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns it upside down."
The Crystal Skulls There is a legend that involves thirteen skulls, which are supposed to be located all around the world. Five of the skulls have actually been found. The legend holds that when all the skulls come together, it will be disastrous. They hold the secrets of the world and they are made of clear quartz. The History channel did a story on them. The earliest published reference to the skulls was made in July 1936 in a British anthropological journal called Man. The skulls were also referenced in an Indiana Jones film. The legend of the skulls says all the skulls must be found by the date of December 21, 2012. This date is supposed to be the when the earth will be knocked off its' axis. The skulls, all thirteen, must be found and aligned correctly to avoid this catastrophe. This date also marks the end of the Mayan calendar cycle of 5,126 years. There is a fascinating story surrounding these skulls, as intriguing as Indiana Jones. The age of these crystal skulls is said to range from five thousand to thirty-six thousands years old.
Shifts in World Politics There is a new new union on the world scene. We have the European Union and on July 13, 2008 leaders from forty-three countries surrounding the Mediterranean from North Africa and the Middle East met in Paris, France to begin the Mediterranean Union. French President Nicolas Sarkozy championed the creation of this union. It brought together such unlikely countries as Israel and Syria, Algeria, Morocco, Turkey and Greece. A lengthy prophecy in Daniel 11 describes the historical struggle in the Middle East between powers to the north and south of Israel. The "king of the South" of the end time will attack the "king of the North," which would be the ruler of Europe, who would retaliate. Libyan Leader, Muammar Gaffafi was not present, he however sent a representative. Gaddafi boycotted the meeting but is credited for making the following statement. "We shall have another Roman Empire and imperialist design." The New Mediterranean Union: Seeds of a New Roman Empire?
The book of Revelation represents the ultimate authority about end times. We are not told the day nor the hour but we can tell the season. We seem to be in that season.
