THE OCCASSION

If you are dressing for success as a D J in a night club then you will be hoping to create a completely different image to a man who is dressing for success in the boardroom. This is why knowing exactly what to wear for each occasion is necessary inorder to be a snappy dresser.

Occasions may be grouped into formal and informal, and then broken down into more defined criteria. For example, a man dressing for a formal job will want to wear classical attire. However, if his job entails travelling he will also want to take convenience and comfort during journeys into consideration when making a choice as to what to wear.

Another example may be that of a man who is going out on a blind date to a funfair. It is usual to wear casual clothing for such an event, but as he is to meet a new acquaintance and will want to impress he may want to make sure that he is well groomed and that his clothing is what is known as 'smart casual'.

The successful dresser generally knows how to dress up, or to dress down an outfit that he is wearing. The appearance of a classic work suit may be changed from office day wear to night wear by taking away the white shirt and replacing it with a trendy tee shirt. A suit can instantly be made to stand out and draw attention and success to the wearer who is about to engage in public speaking, by the addition of a plain deep red, or a plain royal blue tie. These primary colors, also when worn as shirts, add power to perceived personality.

PERSONAL STYLE

Your own style will be one that suits your lifestyle and your physique. It will also be one that you feel and look great in. Finding your style may take a little experimentation, but is well worth doing if you want your clothing to spell success. This is because successful people are memorable. Those who dress stylishly and with personality and class will stand out from the crowd and receive more attention and respect as a result.

Style can come from a variety of different areas. Color is just one example of this. It may be that there is a particular color which complements your skin tone or eyes and which you can make a habit of wearing a little of with each outfit.
