Museum reviews: The Holocaust Memorial Center

This was a very enlightening and interesting museum, my husband and I enjoyed it very much, but because of the nature of the exhibits, I don't recommend it for children 10 or under When you walk into it, you are walking into a replica of a Nazi concentration camp. Which is pretty powerful stuff. The museum has dioramas, tons of photographs, many oral accounts of what it was like to be in a concentration camp and many exhibits documenting the history of the Holocaust with of a lot of video presentations. Many people today do not realize that many German companies like Braun, Krupps, and Volkswagen among others were built on the backs of the Jewish labor forces during the Holocaust. There are also post-World War II displays, The Institute of the Righteous and the Museum of European Jewish History. I recommend that everyone visit this museum at least once, but it is not as big and grand as The Holocaust Museum in Washington D. C.
