If you cannot paint the walls, a nighttime space effect can be achieved with glow in the dark stars and galaxies or a purchased light that projects moving stars. You can also make your own lamp: Purchase a lamp or lamp kit with either a black or a blue shade or paint your existing shade. On a piece of paper, draw and then cut out star, rocket or planet shapes or purchase stickers. Don't make the patterns too big, so that you can put more pieces on the shade. Place the pieces on the lampshade using a glue stick until you are happy with placement. Using a razor blade knife carefully cut out the patterns.

If you would like to do something with the flooring in the room, many scenes in the Wall-E movie feature a solid black floor or metal flooring. Whi le the Wall-E movie is light-hearted, it deals with some very real global issues. If you are interested in teaching your child the importance of caring for your environment, the Wall-E movie may give you just that opportunity. Don't forget to include in the design of the bedroom a plant for your child to take care of. Plants teach responsibility and while they can be killed, it's not quite as devastating as say not feeding the puppy.
