Tips for Motivating Employees

Motivating employees to do their best on the job has been an ongoing issue in all types of businesses. Most employers have found that reward incentives can be used to improve the following areas:

1) Increase total sales revenue
2) Reduce inventory losses and theft
3) Improve overall customer service and satisfaction
4) Improve attendance and reduce unscheduled absences

Through research as an employer, you can decide how these incentives should be used wisely to generate a more positive and productive work environment in your business.
You, as an employer, should value your employees, and part of taking care of your employees is making sure they are recognized for their accomplishments. Some recognition occurs at department level through monetary incentives. By offering your employees incentives for certain accomplishments, both the company and the employee can benefit.

Reducing Inventory Losses and Theft:

It is a well known fact in law enforcement that thefts amongst employees do a lot more damage to a business because the employees have the knowledge of the business's security steps. An incentive program will inspire improvement in employee performance. To motivate employees, one theory is to offer a monetary incentive to employees to help in reducing inventory losses and theft levels. The budget for this incentive should come from a percentage of profits based on projected growth or monies generated through reducing
