Perfectly situated on the sparkling waters of the Caribbean, Cancun is the premiere vacation destination in Mexico. The temperate weather, beautiful beaches, and vast array of available activities keep tourists flocking to this tropical paradise year round.

The most enticing aspect of Cancun is the beach, enjoyable year round thanks to the always-summer climate. The sugar-white sand and crystal clear water make this resort area perfect for all types of water activities. Scuba diving and snorkeling are favorite activities due to the Great Mayan Reef. Boating, water skiing, parasailing, and jet skiing can be enjoyed either on the sea or the lagoon. Fishing in Cancun is phenomenal. Choose from fly or rod fishing on the river or lagoon, or take a tour for deep sea fishing. Of course, the beach is ideal for relaxing and sunbathing. Topless sunbathing is accepted in Cancun; total nudity, however, is illegal.

Cancun offers a generous selection of activities to enjoy off the beach as well. Touring the ancient Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza, Coba, or Tulum is fascinating definitely not to be missed. The Xcaret Eco-Park in nearby Cozumel is a fascinating place with interactive aquariums, museums, a butterfly pavilion, as well as shows with regional music and dances. Cancun itself is home to several golf courses, including the Moon Spa & Golf Club designed by Jack Nicklaus. The Plaza de Toros, in downtown Cancun, offers bullfighting every Wednesday.
Shopping is plentiful in Cancun. There are many boutiques and street vendors in the downtown area, most of which practice bartering. The hotel zone is home to a few upscale shopping complexes, such as the Kukuclan Plaza and the Plaza las Americas.

Lodging in Cancun is abundant. There are a few budget hotels in the city and near the beach. There are innumerable beachside resorts, many of which offer all-inclusive meal and drink plans. If you wish to dine outside the resort, there are countless restaurants that serve any type of cuisine you wish. Of course the Mexican food is superb; there's also establishments offering American, Italian, French, and Japanese fare. From fine dining to street side cafes to fast food, and everything in between, any ambiance you desire is available. Cancun is famous for its nightlife. Dance clubs and beachside bars offering every type of music, from rock to reggae, are abundant in this resort town. Many clubs have a drink inclusive cover charge.

Cancun, Mexico, definitely is the one vacation destination that has everything. Whether you're looking for a spring break destination, a beach getaway for the family, a historical excursion, or a romantic honeymoon spot, Cancun has whatever your heart desires.
