I cannot be sure
Because I do not know how to prove myself sure
About these stars tonight
But they seem brighter now
That you are here
When I was a child
I remember them
Big and bright
Close enough to touch
And real enough to wish upon
And when you are gone
They are far away
Just a fleeting memory, so distant
Like you are
But I always vow to never forget them
And they must always remember me
Because they hold me like you do when you return
May they always as bright as they are
Tonight
As the darkness closes around us
Which means you must always stand beside me
