GRUDE 2 IS GRUDGELESS
The ghost with the most is still holding a grudge across the world with her antics of creaky and tiring old tricks again. I swear this ghost has more hair than Don King on steroids, and whats up with the kid doesn't he ever stop meowing during this movie?
As in the second Halloween the second Grudge movie leaves us where the first movie began. The beginning starts out what we expected from the commericals but wanders for some time with a different array of characters besides getting to know Aubrey played by Amblyn Tamblyn (The Ring & TV's Joan of Arcadia). At first I was wondering who this girl is which of course turns out to be Karen Davis's sister played by Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
This movie seems to lacked some direction. In part due to the fact that there is three stories jumbling around on the screen. I felt I was watching a tennis match going back and forth on the stories during the whole movie. You think the stories would somehow combined them all together towards the end. First you have a family in the United States then to the sister and lastly the three school girls who were in the house at the begining of the movie. HA! During these stories I felt loss and confused by all the characters. It seems most of the characters are aimlessly wandering about the movie. In the orignal the suspense was creepy and scary. The sequel did not even make me screamed at all compare to the first. Miss Tamblyn's character Aubrey had more intersting quality because she went digging for facts and history on the ghost and why, was she holding a grudge? The couple in the United States was a bit confusing because I wanted to know why the parent's son was so curious with this person or thing in his apartment room. Plus how the heck did the ghost traveled such a great distance to cause death and hallucinations to this family? I needed a connection between the U.S family, the three girls to Aubrey. The school girls made since, since they did encounter the ghost on a dare when they went into the haunted house but why did the ghost start killing people who haven't seen her? Especially when the girls got into trouble in school and the ghost sprouted her wings of havoc.
Overall the movie did dragged but it did make me laugh when one of the school girls was so frighten she pee like in The Exorist with Regan on the stairs. As for most people who sat through long movies this wasn't that long but it sure felt like. Since this movie did not make me scream I am giving it a symbol of no screams. Lets find some orignal ghost stories that really makes us chill to the bone.
