Experiences renting a car with Enterprise Rent-A-Car

by hisbabydoll

Happy Anniversary Enterprise Rent-A-Car, the largest North American rental car company is celebrating their 50th. To mark their anniversary Enterprise has teamed up with the Arbour Day Foundation to start a campaign called "50 million tree pledge".

Enterprise will work with the foundation to plant 50 million trees over the span of the next 50 years. Tress will be planted in national forests in Canada, Europe and the United States to off-set damage from fires, storms and arbour disease. These efforts will expand and preserve habitats for endangered species as well. A novel way for the company to offset green-house gas emissions caused by vehicles in general including their own rental cars. Way to go, Enterprise! That Enterprise has flourished over the last 50 years is not a surprise to me. I've had nothing but good experiences renting from Enterprise.
The first two times I rented from Enterprise it was solely because my car insurance company dealt with only Enterprise and one other rental company. Enterprise just happened to be the closest to my car dealership.

On my first occasion I was on holiday in a town away from home. No problem! The company rented me a car in the town I was in, and I ended up returning it across the street from my car dealership! I dropped my rental off at Enterprise and they drove me to the car dealership to pick up my car. Enterprise didn't charge a penny extra for pick-up, drop-off, or different town service! My rental was an Impala with very low mileage and in pristine condition. Enterprise gave me unlimited mileage and charged the insurance company directly. Not a penny came out of my pocket!

You can rent a car from Enterprise in person, over the phone or online. Their US website is www.enterpriserentacar.com. The website is very well laid out. You can search their available inventory and different deals online, as well as booking online. Very cool, if you are planning a visit to the UK, Ireland, Germany or Canada you can book your car from home before leaving on your trip!

Enterprise rents a wide array of vehicles from the simple sedan to SUVs, trucks, vans and even specialty luxury cars. You can rent one-time-only or you can engage in a long term rental. If you are frequent renter, Enterprise overs a membership plan which will give you: faster reservations and rentals, airport priority and member discounts.

Living in Toronto with our fabulous transit system, I have many friends who don't own their own car. Instead, they rent cars anytime they want to go on a road-trip. If I didn't commute over thirty kilometres to my work every day, I'd do the same thing because the savings are awesome. For instance my expenses monthly for transportation include: car payment, car insurance, gas and upkeep. This totals to around $1100/month. A close friend has a transit pass and rents from Enterprise three or four times a month for a grand total of around $250 in transportation expenses.

As for rental prices, you can rent an economy up to a full-sized car for less than $50/day tax-in. This price goes down by about 40% if you rent for more than 2 days.
