Gaming Illiterate

Today's obsession with video games
is almost more than I can take.
The thought of what entertainment has come
just makes my simple mind ache!

The graphics are more vivid
but they don't make things more clear.
The only way they don't make my eyes hurt,
is if I first consume a case of beer.

Every new game has a sequel.
You can't understand without playing version one.
There is way too much to have to keep up with
for an old gal like me to have fun.

There are so many levels.
Several are pretty hard.
Of course, I can't save my advancements
without a memory card.

The women are dressed so scantily,
in a cartoon world that was once so pure.
It is enough to make someone playing in sweat pants
feel pretty darn insecure.

Try as I might I can't understand,
The concept referred to as role play.
There is so much to know in the gaming world,
So for me, the dark is a good place to stay.

The changes in video games
sure have come along.
There is certainly a big difference
since my carefree days of pong!
