Thieves are able to enter the Webkinz world and steal from others easily. Anyone could fall for their underhanded schemes. To keep Webkinz safe, the first step is to learn tricks that dishonest people have up their sleeves. The next step is to avoid them at all costs.
Rutter Riddle
A woman claiming to be Debbie/Carrie Rutter has posted lies all over the internet. She is not part of the Webkinz founding family. She does not get loads of free merchandise and codes to give away. Those that e-mail her their usernames and passwords will not get anything they are promised. Ignore this woman; she is a fake!
Code Catastrophe
When someone is searching for cheat codes or secret codes, he/she will often find websites that offer them, but require Webkinz usernames and passwords first. After the login information is entered, the website doesn't provide any cheat codes as it promised. There is not one legitimate website that requires a username and password for cheat codes.
Terrible Trade
Some Webkinz users like to trade, but only close friends should trust one another. A stranger on the internet who asks to trade will often take someone else's username and password, and then give nothing in return! Never give anyone login information! Even friends from the Webkinz forum steal sometimes.
Contest Caper
There are countless contest scams posted all over the internet. One of the most popular asks others to send items to their account, and whoever sends the best one will get an amazing prize. Another method of phony-contest hosts is to encourage others to share their account information, and a winning account will be randomly selected. Then the winner will be sent a prize. In reality, only the thief will be rewarded.
Babysitting Blunder
Numerous people have posted Webkinz babysitting offers. They claim that it's not a scam, and say if it makes the owner feel better, he/she may change his/her password after the babysitting period. However, the babysitters change the password first and keep everything for themselves.
Sometimes people are only after Kinzcash, so if that begins to mysteriously disappear, users should change their passwords immediately. A Webkinz account will be closed if the user agreement is violated (even by a trespasser). None of the codes can be reused. An unlucky individual will be forced to start from scratch. Never trust anyone with a username and password, no matter how kind they seem or what they are promising in return.
