The importance of music in our lives.
Well, I don't know about anyone else but I know music is a very important thing to me and my life. Whenever I am in a bad mood, music lifts my spirits. Whenever I am feeling sad music makes me smile. I listen to music while cleaning my house. I find it helps speed the process along. I just turn the music up; grab my broom and cleaning supplies and dance around the room singing as I clean. If anyone was to see me doing this they would think I was a crazy woman or something.
I listened to music at a couple of jobs I had. One job let us wear headphones while we worked. The job was kind of monotonous and boring so the music helped keep us awake and focused on what we were doing so we wouldn't mess any accounts up. The other job was a part time job and the business wasn't well known so there weren't many customers coming in. The radio would again keep me awake and pass the time by so much faster. I think more places of employment should allow their co-workers to listen to music. In my Opinion as long as it's not too loud or interfering in their work or anyone else's I'm all for it.
I have heard that pregnant woman sing to and play music for their babies while they are still pregnant. I don't know if it does anything to affect the babies or not but I would like to think it sparks some kind of good reaction in them.
Music is everywhere, on the TV, in your car, in grocery and retail stores, in your house and at work. There are all kinds and genres. I don't know one person who listens to just one genre of music. My music listening spectrum is so wide, I listen to everything from Hip-Hop, Trip Hop to some Club and House music. I remember as a young teenager, going to my grandma and grandpa's and locking myself in the spare bedroom made for us grandkids with something to drink and the tape player/radio. I would stand in front of the mirror and pretend my hair brush is a microphone and belt out the music blaring from the speakers. I would dress up and tease my hair and Sing all of Madonna's songs. Needless to say I got yelled at a lot to turn down the racket.
Music is all over the TV. Advertisers use music to try to sell everything from cars to fast food. Who can forget the ads for a website named Free Credit Report.com. They guy who is in his blue subcompact car singing, F-R-E-E that spells free Credit Report .Com, baby, or when he is working at the restaurant dressed up as a Pirate. There's even the infamous Madonna Commercial for Pepsi.
