America is fast disappearing. This disappearance is being Brought on by political corruption, and corporate greed. This much, everyone seems to be able to agree on. However, agreeing on what to do about it is another thing entirely. Every person who knows anything about the situation has their own theories, ideas and suggestions.
To get down to the business of how we are losing America. It's simple really: there are too many greedy politicians, and businessmen in this world, not enough statesmen and patriots. It's just that simple. What, you will ask, is the difference between a statesman and a politician? Well, contrary to popular belief, the loss of a spine does not make a statesman a politician.
No, the difference is much more basic. A politician is a statesman who has an overly developed sense of self preservation. Everything a politician says does, or thinks is aimed at one thing: staying in power. He does nothing out of duty to his country. Oh no, it's about gaining power and control for himself. Oh sure, some of the things he does will bring about benefits for the people he represents. But by and large, his actions will pad his pockets and keep where he feels he belongs.
A politician will use such words as patriot, terror, change, and hope, and service as buzzwords. He will harp on them over and over while never actually saying anything of substance, because he has realized the one true fact of life; that people are stupid and easily swayed with flowery language. So he will talk and talk and talk, and the public falls in love with him. And all the while they never notice that nothing actually ever changes.
A statesmen, on the other hand, is rarely popular accept in the immediate aftermath of a crisis he has pulled them through. His goals are not to keep himself in power. Rather, he desires to elevate the people of the country he loves, and yes, a statesman will invariably love his country, faults and all, to new heights of glory and power for that country. Every move he makes will be calculated to better his country, not simply further his own power.
He does not use such buzzwords casually. Rather, he lets his actions give the people he serves the hope and change that they want. His decisions will often be unpopular, but he will not be swayed. A politician's position will changed based on the vote. A statesman's will only change if he thinks another choice will make better his country. He is a true servant, and when there is not a time of crisis, the statesman
