Homemade Air Fresheners: If you have ever worried about what the chlorofluorocarbons in your commercial aerosol of air freshener is doing to your family's health or to the earth ozone layer you need never to worry again. Essential oils provide a far better option all around and once you use them I am pretty sure that you will completely agree with me.
When you are making your own air fresheners there are many different you can use one of which is the spray method which is as follows:
8 drops Essential Oil(s) of your choice
2 cups Water
Mix these together, put into a spray bottle and spray a fine mist on the curtains and carpets. Avoid velvet, silk and wood. By the force of gravity your carpets will receive the molecules of the mixture and its wonderful aroma but those with pet should pay close attention.
There is usually one room of the house, the kitchen, that gets the brunt of burned toast and it would be a nice idea to keep a spray bottle permanently there so that you have an alternative to opening the windows every time something gets overcooked.
There are several types of rings that are sold for using essential oils on light bulbs and you can also put oil directly on to the light bulb but do please be careful when doing this because the oils are flammable.
You should use no more than 1 small drop on the bulb and the bulb can be turned on when you need the aroma which is released into the air by the heat from the bulb. Another neat idea that you can use if you have a fireplace in your house is to use cypress, pine, and sandalwood or cedar wood essential oil and put 1 to 2 drops on each log before you put it onto the fire.
You can also do this in advance to surprise your friends with the wonderful aroma and they will think that you are using wood that you have had imported from the sandalwood forests of Mysore, India.
An extremely easy and effective way of giving a nice aroma to a room is to us a diffuser. If you place a bowl of hot water and a few drops of essential oil in it in a central place in the room it will leave a nice lingering scent in the room. Remove it when the heat has leave and be careful to keep it out of reach of children.
There are other methods to giving your house a wonderful aroma but if you suffer from asthma the use of some essential oils will work marvelously because they are all natural. There are other methods in which I will decide for you now:
1. Candles
Light the candle and wait until the wax begins to melt and then add the oil(s) to the
