Poetry: Lessons in life

by Elizabeth Robinson

Created on: July 18, 2008

What is the message?

Exciting
Inviting
I find myself writing
My success will depend
That I end
And defend
Where I go
What I know
What I knew long ago
So I lied
I can't hide
What I'm feeling inside
Like a thorn in my side
Made me feel like I'd died
My grandma, My dad tried to see what I had
What back in the 80's I thought was a fad
They died
As they tried
At the very last minute
To tell us their life
And what wasn't in it
What they didn't do
Did not follow through
This was their message
For me and for you
Family, friends and those I don't know
Are you really going where you want to go?
Are you using time or is time what you're wasting?
Has your life got some flavor? Is it worth tasting?
Look in your heart
Look at your dreams
What are you doing?
What does it mean?
