Villanelle: Ebb and Flow
The waves of the ocean ebb and flow
Through the morning and the night
It's hard to say where they will go
The wind tosses the water with its vicious blow
Causing a terror and a fright
The waves of the ocean ebb and flow
Shorelines surrender, slipping with the undertow
Waves crashing endlessly, putting up a fight
It's hard to say where they will go
The ocean is a live show
Always changing within sight
The waves of the ocean ebb and flow
Reflecting, let your imagination grow
Extending and reaching to a new height
It's hard to say where they will go
Try to capture every high and every low
But you never can, try as you might
The waves of the ocean ebb and flow
It's hard to say where they will go
