The case for gay marriage

Marriage is a sacred ceremony uniting two people who wish to spend their lives together. Whether between a man and a woman, a man and a man, or otherwise, is their marriage really anyone's business but their own? The government does not interfere in what adults do in the privacy of their own homes, nor in the lifestyles they choose to lead. Therefore, how and why is it a concern to the government that two adults who share a loving bond would like to act upon it and formally become married, despite sexual orientation?

We're all mature here. I think it was back in elementary school that we learned how to look the other way. If a vegan sees a pig being slaughtered, naturally they will look away. If someone uncomfortably witnesses a couple publicly displaying affection, they turn the other direction. Seems simple enough, right? Many aspects of present day society are deemed unjust, yet are witnessed or heard about everyday. Are not adultery, seduction, rape, sodomy, bestiality, incest and prostitution also forbidden in the Bible? In comparison, what harm does gay marriage have on our society? Contemporary conclusions from social sciences, no matter how objective' they appear, and from changing social conditions, no matter how compelling they seem, which countermand the revealed will of God in Scripture, cannot be either true or according to God's will" (Chandler 2). Though the Bible is very important to many Christians and is a basis from which they chose to live their lives, the Bible does not address many issues in society today. It seems that some topics that controversial arguments are being based upon in the Bible should
