So you have decided to visit paradise on earth. Cancun, Mexcio is absolutely gorgeous. White sand beaches and beautiful blue waters with waiters bringing your favorite cocktails right to your own personal beach chair! What more could you possible ask for? Sightseeing and tours? Well they have more than plenty of that too! Cancun is loaded with excitiing adventures.
Let's start with Xcaret. Located about an hour and a half outside of Cancun it is suitable for families with children ages four and older. There is an activity for everyone. Snorkeling in one of the bays, swimming with dolphins, enjoying an underground river, or simply sitting aro und and eating are a few things to enjoy here. Book this tour at least a couple of days ahead of time. A local tour guide will pick you up early from your hotel and deliver you to the park for a day of excitement. Staying for the night show is highly recommended. Your guide at the end of the day will take you safely back to your hotel.
Chichen Itza is one of the most popular places to visit. It is one of the remains of the Mayan civilizations. Discover the ancient pyramids, and visit where the sacrifices took place. You can tour the ancient ball court where some of the most brutal ball games ever took place. This is an all day tour probably best for children at least four and older. As with most of the tours, your tour guide will set this up for you and get you to the park, which is about an hour and a half away.
Tulum and Xel-Ha are both ab out an half hour from the hotel zon. Your tour guide will get you onto a local tour bus to your destination. Tulum is an archeological site with more ancient pyramids. Xel-Ha is a natural aquarium where you can swim with the dolphins and have a fun-filled water adventure. They are both full day trips. The whole family can enjoy a day of adventure.
Captin Hooks's cruise departs from Playa Linda, Cancun. Depending where you stay, either take the local buses, or walk to this port. This is a cruise for the pirate lover! It is best for children at least 12 years and up. It is approximately a 3 hour tour that includes dinner, open bar, and a live pirate show.
The marine enthusiast will be in heaven withthe Jungle tour. You will hop aboard a waverunner or speedboat and wind yoour way through Nichupte lagoon, through the mangroves, to the Caribbean Sea into Nizuk Coral Reef. Here you can snorkel the day away in one of the most breath taking places on earth. You will depart from Marina Blue Ray for a family fun day of adventure.
Isla Mujeres is about a 30 mintue ferry ride from Cancum. It is a small island packed fulll of fun. Women will love the bargain shopping. Kids will love the various water activities, and men will love the food. Music fills the air as you walk down the authentic Mexican streets. Ferrys depart back and forth all day long so you can stay the amount of time you wish.
Cozumel is a 45 minute ferry ride from Cancun. It is another island full of good food, music, and wonderful shopping. It offers dolphin adventures, sting ran encouters, and water sports.
One of the most popular adult activites is the Booze Cruise. It departs from Fat Tuesdays, and is not for the faint of heart! Packed full of drinking, dancing, and eating, it is one of the more sold out tours. Book in advance.
Whatever you do always remember to pack your swimsuit, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat! There is always plenty of sun and plenty of fun in Cancun, Mexico. Be prepared to have the biggest adventure and the most fun of your entire life!
