The next step up in the fight against your unwanted blemish, is to hire a steam cleaner. This process is known as hot water extraction, and is sometimes warned against as the risk of over wetting carpet is imminent. These start from about $100 a day, and will help tackle stains not covered by the standard bottled option.

3. Professional Cleaners
Should your stain persist, the third option available is to hire a professional carpet cleaner to take up the fight on your behalf. Professional cleaners utilize a range of methods, such as steam cleaning, and dry chemical based cleaning. These services are more effective as the cleaning method used is specific to the stain, rather then a one size fits all bottle of stain removal magic.
