This topic is a difficult one; but I think there are many varieties of discussions this title can go in favor of. I think about what way of persuasion I should use, when it comes to mind to write from my personal point of view of my culture in my everyday world. This is quite a different approach to the topic than the way most people would go; but I think that this title could use a bit of flavor outside of your normal spices. Wouldn't you agree?

How different cultures view rain. I am going to take this in my own way. So instead of cultures of the world, how about teenage cultures? I am talking about emo (emotional), gothic, punk, scene, metalhead, nerd, jock, preppy, skater, anime enthusiasts, and many other subcultures.

According to stereotypes, emo people are always sad and looking for an excuse to be depressed. Let us use this as an example. Let us say that an emotional person has been depressed lately and just finished self harming. It starts to rain outside, so they pull back the drapes and watch the rain cascade down the window. This may invoke a variety of emotions. Perhaps it will cause them to start the waterworks. It may inspire them that tomorrow will be a better day. They may feel as if nothing matters anymore. They take it in their own way, just as I have taken this topic in my own way.

No matter how a teenager feels, they can always guarentee a cloud somewhere. A cloud that rains all of it out; the stress, the love, the anger, the sadness.

On the other hand, culture's insinuate rain as some form of spirituality. For example, the ancient tribes prayed to their gods of the sky to rain down upon their crops in hopes of a fruitful harvest; or the story of Noah's Ark. This goes with my previous statement about how people view rain, no matter who or what they are labeled as.
