Fake

She's breaking down inside
but you wouldn't ever know it
beneath her smiles, she cries
but she will never ever show it

You think she's strong
she must be some super-girl
if only you really knew her...

When she wakes, she masks her face
a face the world will never see
she paints on a smile
and dries away last nights tears
happy is what she always seems to be
no one has seen her sad in years

She opens up her diary
and locks away inside
her loneliness, misery and secret desperate longings
she must never let him see
that she has no sense of belonging

She smiles as she sees them
they think that shes alright
but if they really saw her
they'd see her heart was full with freight

Her eyes concealing burning tears
if only they knew-if only they saw
she could remove her mask
possibly be saved

But no one knows
and no one sees
and so she masks her misery
