I would say 'yes'. But not out of an atheistic or agnostic belief. Stating the pro-belief does not weaken the concept of an almighty 'God', but may enhance it. The fact that other races of intelligent beings may have come before humanity may only strengthen this case. Here's how...A more advanced race of humanoids, say possibly eons ahead of humanity, could have arrived on a much younger Earth, with very primitive, proto-humans, such as 'Neanderthals'.

These extraterrestrials probably studied their genetics and found out that the neanderthal-humans, and their life-patterns were not suited for long-term survival on Earth. Perhaps these beings tried to tinker with their DNA, to improve their plight, but found it was impossible. Maybe these beings saw an opportunity to create a new hybrid-species of humanity, maybe as a 'worker-species' in the beginning, as some ancient Sumerian texts clearly stipulate that the 'lulu', or humanity was created for. They may have infused some of their compatible-DNA with some of the primitive-DNA at the time, creating the first more advanced humans.

To juxtapose this conversation with the concept of an all-mighty, spiritual 'God', this could have been following the capitalized 'God's will', with the lower-cased 'gods' basically just spreading what we call humanity in the form of an 'alien-human' hybrid that survives to this day. Perhaps these more advanced humanoid beings were creations of God, with souls. The infusion of this more evolved and possibly more spiritual DNA created a new branch of humanity with a soul, on the Earth, capable of adapting and surviving as a species on the Earth, whereas the Neanderthals died out.

This does not weaken the cause of a spiritual God, it only enhances it. Perhaps these humanoids coming from a different world in effect did God's will by creating another branch of humanity that could and did survive, in effect passing 'God's-essence'. The Old Testament and the ancient Sumerian texts are stunningly parallel, starting with the creation of mankind right through the Bibical flood, i.e. "The Epic of Gilgamesh" from the ancient Sumerian texts, which amazingly parallels the Bibical flood almost event per event.

Even the Vatican has come close to accepting the reality of extraterrestrial beings, believing that they are here and may have played a significant role in humanity's development into a more advanced human being does not weaken my faith in God one bit. After all, the Holy Bible is just one of many
