Recipes: Quick and easy meatloaf

When thinking of a home cooked meal, one of the first dishes people bring to mind is meat loaf. There is just something about meatloaf that keeps people coming back for more. Each person who makes meatloaf believes that theirs is the best, and I am no exception to the rule. Therefore, the name of my recipe should be of no surprise to you.

Best Meatloaf

Ingredients:

1 lb ground chuck
1/2 lb ground sausage
Two eggs
1/2 cup onions, diced
1-cup Italian bread crumbs
1-cup ketchup
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

In a large mixing bowling blend together ground chuck, ground sausage, eggs, onions, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. The best method of mixing is by hand; it feels a little strange but this way, all the ingredients are mixed evenly and throughout the meat.

Shape the meat into an oval or rectangular shape, whichever you prefer, in a 13x9 baking dish, or standard meatloaf tin. Cook for 1 hour then remove from oven. Drain grease from pan. Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf; continue cooking for another 15 minutes.

Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy.
