be called Officers of the Peace. The attitude and demeanor of police towards citizens has changed drastically since this war began.
James A. Fox of Northwestern University, where much of this training takes place, has said their College of Criminal Justice has created a siege mentality with the style and verbiage used to train law enforcement. Fox was quoted as saying "When you have this sort of mentality, excessive brutality and improper actions are more likely to occur."
I guess that would explain why an eleven year old boy, lying on the floor
with arms outstretched, was hit in the back with a shotgun blast as Drug Enforcement goons broke into the wrong house.
Our War has also reached other nations. Ask the citizens of Ciudad Juarez Mexico about the scathing results of the American war on drugs. Imagine a main highway in an American city being shut down because there is a gun battle going on. Two rival drug cartels are battling over territory and these people are caught in the middle. Kidnappings, torture and even beheadings have become common place. They'd probably be safer in Baghdad.
Yes our war on drugs has caused irreparable harm to tens of millions of Americans; dumped hundreds of billions of dollars of our taxes into a deep dark bottomless pit and thrown other sovereign states into conditions of anarchy without even a shred of success.
I believe it is time for our government to sign a peace treaty with the American people and let us live our lives making our own decisions concerning drugs.
