Superman and Batman are both strong heroes and have their own brand of justice. An obvious amount of respect is shown between the two when they interact. Both men are heroes and probably are the most recognizable faces in all of American culture today. Back then; you couldn't get away from these two as they were in comics, TV shows, video games, and movies. But that's not the question at all. The main question is in a hypothetical battle, who would win between Batman and Superman?

The answer in this by logic would be Superman. Batman would need to have Kryptonite and let's assume he doesn't have any and wants to battle in hand to hand combat. It wouldn't be for a crime but just to see who is the toughest one of all. Batman is pretty strong but the thing is he doesn't have any superpowers. Doesn't mean that he wouldn't be able to put up a fight at all.

Let us try to compare the two instantly. Superman is from the planet Krypton and his energy is derived by the Yellow Sun thus granting him that superhuman strength. Plus, you have him with heat ray vision, which really can give any mere human a distinct disadvantage. There is no logo out on the sky just to see him appear. It is simply like this: Lois gets in trouble, Superman comes to the rescue for example and of course if there is any sign of trouble brewing, you can bet he'll show up just like that. Add in the fact he has fought super beings from other planets and even fellow but evil Kryptonians.

Batman on the other hand had dealt with mainly villains that are humans like The Joker, The Penguin, Two-Faced, The Riddler and others along the way. While he may not have the strength, he does however have the intelligence to solving a problem. He even had notable companions like Robin and sometimes Batgirl in their own story.

In a normal setting without any tricks, Superman would win in a battle of epic proportions. Mainly because again Batman doesn't have super powers but has gadgets and would hard to catch a man that is faster than a speeding bullet. However, if the setting is in an area where there is a red sun glowing, the battle may end up going to Batman but even that could be a toss up. The red sun doesn't increase Superman's strength but it makes him feel as if he is human. The Kryptonite however used would have to be green, the most common form and most well known to anyone who has ever watched Superman shows or maybe comics as well.

The closest out there outside of comic books would be in CAW form in the wrestling games and fighting games. In those situations however, it is up to you, the player to determine who wins the match. One thing for sure is that it would be a fight for the ages.
