She can't believe its been ten years
To her it feels like yesterday
A hurt so great she can't get past

She knows he's moved on,
that he tried too wait for her
She wonders how he found his way

Holding on to that tattered doll
The memories come rushing back
As the tears roll down her face, she starts to smile
She needs no photographs

She hears the first cries of her baby girl

As she enters into this great big world
So small, so strong and so full of life
She holds her close in her arms
knowing now they'll never part

The Lights are off the candles bright
She smiling now as that cake appears
Sitting there on her Daddy's knee
He kisses her check, then tells her baby make a wish
She blows those candles out

She can't believe its been ten years
To her it feels like yesterday
A hurt so great she can't get past

She knows he's moved on,
that he tried too wait for her
She wonders how he found his way

Holding on to that tattered doll
The memories come rushing back
As the tears roll down her face, she starts to smile
She needs no photographs

Christmas morning four AM
She's jumping on their king size bed
They start to groan they've just gone to bed
She just can't wait till morning light
So excited full of life ...

Todays the day Daddy says
Those training wheels are coming off
But she's afraid for her baby girl,
He winks at her and she knows it's time
Next things she know she flying by
Waving at her mom as she drives past

She can't believe its been ten years
To her it feels like yesterday
A hurt so great she can't get past

She knows he's moved on,
that he tried too wait for her
She wonders how he found his way

Holding on to that tattered doll
The memories come rushing back
As the tears roll down her face, she starts to smile
She needs no photographs

Come on mom she pleading now
All my friends are going out
We'll stay together I wont be late
I am growing up you have to see
It's my time to spread my wings

She's crying as her baby leaves
Full of fear and feeling so alone
He take he hand and she knows its time
Her baby girl is growing up

It's half past twelve she checks her watch again
The fear is building as the seconds pass
Then the sound of knocking on their front door
She sinks to the floor she knows somethings wrong
Her baby girl has a key, no need to knock on the door

She can't believe its been ten years
To her it feels like yesterday
A hurt so great she can't get past

She knows he's moved on,
that he tried too wait for her
She wonders how he found his way

Holding on to that tattered doll
The memories come rushing back
As the tears roll down her face, she starts to smile
She needs no photographs

Her baby girl as got her wings ........
