Recipes: Homemade barbeque sauce

My barbeque sauce may be a bit expensive than the others, homemade and store bought combined, but it is really incredible! I have to pay hommage to my friend Rene who gave it to me but I will be the one who gives it to you here. Let's get down to busines...

First of all, I only tried this barbeque sauce with baby back ribs. They may be a bit more expensive but they sure are worth it. When your budget is a bit more limited, you can use regular ribs. My mother buys the regular ones, they are half the price, and she sees no difference between the baby back ribs and the regular ones. You will be the one to decide which ones you will buy to prepare with my extraordinary sauce! You could try it with other meats but I did not try it so I can't vouch for which meats you could choose other than baby back ribs.

Here are the ingredients:

1/2 cup of Heinz ketchup
1/3 cup of barbeque sauce (I use the Diana brand myself)
3 spoonfuls of Chili sauce (I use the Heinz brand...I am not being paid by Heinz by the way!)
3/4 cups of maple syrup...this is why the recipe is expensive!
4 spoonfuls of HP sauce

You have to blend this. I put the baby back ribs in a freezer bag with the sauce 24 hours prior to the cooking of the ribs. You keep a couple of spoonfuls to put on the ribs during the cooking.

You have now come to the cooking of those ribs. As for myself, I cook them in the oven first before putting them on the grill (which you could bypass if you don't feel like barbequeing outside if the weather is not great). If you want them to be perfect, you have to cook them a long time at a low temperature. I cook them between 3 1/2 hours to 4 hours at around 275 degrees Farenheit. You turn them once or twice during the cooking time. They come out of the oven tender and perfect!

If you are having guests and don't feel like having the oven on because of the heat in the kitchen, you can cook them the day before. You let them cool down and you put them in the fridge. When you are ready for dinner time, you just put them on the barbeque a couple of minutes to heat them up and they are ready to serve. Your guests will never know the difference!
